Cake that Chicago was featured on WGN TV Adelante to bring awareness for Cakes against cancer, to inspire and motivate others to pursue their passions and to teach families an easy, fun and creative treat for the holiday season.

How to make Candy Cane Sugar Cookies:

Candy cane Sugar cookie recipe 3 cups flour, 3/4 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 cup (2sticks) butter, softened,1 cup sugar,1 egg,1 TBLS milk, 1 tsp vanilla extract, Red and white food coloring. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In a bowl of a stand mixer, cream butter until smooth. Add sugar, beat until light and fluffy. Mix in egg, milk and vanilla extract, then add in remaining dry ingredients. Remove cookie dough from stand mixer, color half cookie dough with white food color. Remove white cookie dough from mixer, add the other half of the dough color with red food color. Wrap each halves of cookie dough in plastic. Refrigerate 30 minutes.Preheat oven 350F. Roll out each color dough into logs according to desired length and width. Place white and red logs next to each other, twist forming 1 long log. Cut log to desired length. Place cookies in fridge 10 minutes. Transfer cookies to baking sheet bake 10-12 minutes.
